Западные СМИ еще не спешат давать оценку событиям, разворачивающимся в Мукачево, ограничиваясь лишь осветлением происходящего там. Но тревогу вызывает то, что Правый сектор поддержали и два других наиболее влиятельных добровольческих батальона «Азов» и «Донбасс». У журналистов западных изданий есть основания предполагать, что добровольцы могут решить «завершить революцию» в Киеве, если военные действия на востоке страны прекратятся. Россия и Франция договорились за непоставленные Мистрали: Россия получит финансовую компенсацию в $1.3 млрд.

Американские военные объявили Россию — угрозой №1 безопасности Соединенных Штатов. И, по мнению военных, снабжения оружием украинской армии — задача из первостепенных. На второй план были отодвинуты Китай, Северная Корея и Исламское государство, с которым война идет до сих пор. Некоторые европейские политики, выступая на открытых дебатах в Европарламенте, обвинили Украину в нарушении Минских соглашений. Основной их укор в том, что украинский парламент так и не принял необходимых реформ для признания за восточными регионами расширенных автономных прав. Второй новостью дня стало ветирование Россией в Совбезе ООН резолюции о признании резни в Сребренице актом геноцида. В этом решении Россию никто из присутствующих не поддержал.

Западные аналитики на страницах иностранных изданий поделились своими взглядами и идеями выхода из затянувшегося российско-украинского конфликта. В вопросе целостности Украины у всех экспертов позиция общая — она должна быть восстановлена, без каких-либо исключений. От Игнорирования, или «замораживания» конфликта в Украине не будет пользы никому, поэтому в отношении России должна быть твердая принципиальная позиция с гибкой системой наказаний и поощрений.

В иностранных СМИ сообщается, что бойцы из добровольческих батальонов требовали в центре Киева разрыва Минских соглашений и прекращения дипломатических отношений с РФ. Бесспорно, прошедший в пятницу марш протеста против «бездеятельности» украинского правительства, не в лучшем свете представляет Украину для западного обывателя, но надо отдать должное журналистам, сумевшим преподнести это событие, минимизируя негативную окраску. Второй новостью, освещавшейся в прессе стал поздравительный звонок Путина Бараку Обаме, после серии враждебной риторики, российский президент изъявил желание дружить с Америкой.
