У Великій Британії 42-річний Метт Джонс пройшов понад 100 км із 37-кілограмовим холодильником на спині, щоб виконати челендж своєї померлої дружини.

Усе почалося в 2018 році, коли хірург наказав Джонсу утриматися від фізичного навантаження після операції із заміни кульшового суглоба. Але його дружина Вікторія пожартувала, що «знаючи чоловіка-дурня», впевнена, що він спробує пройти 50 км із холодильником на спині.

Бажаючи довести свою хоробрість, Джонс, колишній морський піхотинець, сказав, що він може зробити це двічі. Коли його дружина раптово померла від хвороби серця у віці 43 років, він вирішив прийняти її виклик.

Тож Метт Джонс пройшов понад 100 км через гірський хребет Клойдіан менш ніж за 36 годин. При цьому він ніс на спині 37-кілограмовий холодильник з морозильною камерою.

«Мені довелося зануритися в себе, як ніколи раніше. Усе моє тіло кричало, я майже сягнув своєї межі. У найважчі моменти голос Вікі через наших чотирьох дітей говорив мені: «У тебе все вийде, будь собою», — сказав Джонс після походу.
