Иностранные СМИ сообщают, что МВФ поддержал выплату Украине очередного транша, хоть и в существенно урезанном виде. Причина сокращения транша – Киев не выполнил некоторые обязательства по программе помощи МВФ. Россия, как и ожидалось, проголосовала против финансовой помощи Украине. Европейские дипломаты отмечают хрупкость Минских соглашений, но настаивают на безальтернативности им в вопросе мирного урегулирования вооруженного конфликта на Донбассе.

Иностранные СМИ с ожидаемым разочарованием осветили очередной провал украинского правительства взять под контроль коррупцию через запуск е-декларирования. Никого на Западе уже особо не удивляет, что все шаги, направленные на борьбу с коррупцией в Украине, напарываются на сопротивление всей системы, ставя под вопрос приверженность правительства данным обещаниям. Связи Манафорта с командой Януковича бросает серьезную тень на, и без того незапятнанного, Дональда Трампа.

В западных СМИ отмечается восторг главы МВФ прогрессом украинского правительства по стабилизации экономической ситуации в стране. По мнению иностранной прессы, это хороший знак, что проблемы со следующим траншом по кредиту будут минимальны. Также западные журналисты намекают о признаках потепления в отношениях Германии и России, несмотря на все громкие заявления лидеров этих двух стран.
