Три четверти (75%) американцев не одобряют работу Конгресса США, следует из опроса компании SSRS, проведенного по заказу CNN. Более двух третей (68%) опрошенных считают, что сегодняшнее положение дел в Конгрессе, когда республиканцев больше, чем демократов, является ошибкой.

Работу представителей Республиканской партии одобряют 24% американцев. Если бы выборы в Конгресс состоялись сегодня, 40% опрошенных отдали бы свой голос за республиканца.

Работу представителей Демократической партии одобряют 34% респондентов. Если бы выборы прошли сегодня, за демократа проголосовали бы 51% опрошенных.

Телефонный опрос был проведен с 3 по 6 августа среди 1018 респондентов.

Ранее опрос социологического центра Harris и Центра американской политологии Гарвардского университета показал, что 64% граждан США считают расследование возможного вмешательства России в американские выборы вредом для государства. По мнению 73% респондентов, из-за «российского дела» Конгресс США перестал заниматься действительно важными для страны вопросами. Опрошенные полагают, что Конгрессу стоит сосредоточиться на проблемах здравоохранения, борьбы с терроризмом, национальной безопасности, экономики.
