Атака направлена проти паризького виставкового залу Гран-Пале, музею Лувр і ще чотирьох десятків музеїв. Хакери шляхом впровадження шкідливої програми-вимагача зробили базу даних повністю нечитабельною.

У разі несплати хакери погрожували оприлюднити зашифровані дані протягом 48 годин.

Розпочато розслідування. Інцидент не зачіпає інформаційні системи, задіяні під час Олімпійських і Паралімпійських ігор.
