Британські опозиційні партії заявили, що заблокують другу спробу прем'єр-міністра Бориса Джонсона на проведення дострокових загальних виборів в середині жовтня.

Джонсон хоче провести вибори 15 жовтня, що дозволить йому отримати новий мандат і отримати два тижні, щоб вивести Британію з ЄС 31 жовтня. За призначення виборів повинні проголосувати дві третини депутатів.

Але опозиційні сили, включаючи Лейбористську партію, заявили, що будуть або голосувати проти, або утримаються від заклику до виборів, поки законопроєкт, що змушує Джонсона домагатися відстрочки Brexit, остаточно не стане законом.

Якщо ЄС відповість, запропонувавши іншу дату, у прем'єр-міністра буде два дні, щоб прийняти цю пропозицію. За цей час депутати - не уряд - матимуть можливість відхилити цю дату.
