Кандидат в президенти США від Республіканської партії Дональд Трамп вважає, що Україна менш важлива для США, ніж для інших членів НАТО.

Про це він сказав на зустрічі з редакцією газети Washington Post.

"Україна - країна, яка хвилює нас набагато менше, ніж інших членів НАТО, і тим не менше ми тягнемо все це на собі. Вони не роблять нічого. Чому не Німеччина відповідає за Україну від НАТО? Чому не інші країни, які знаходяться в безпосередній близькості від України, цим займаються? Чому ми завжди ті, хто веде до потенційної Третьої світової війни з Росією?" - заявив Трамп.

Він також зазначив, що США не можуть дозволити собі великі витрати на НАТО.

 "НАТО обходиться нам в цілий статок. Так, ми захищаємо Європу за допомогою НАТО, але ми витрачаємо багато грошей", - додав він.
