Міністр інформаційної політики Юрій Стець в інтерв'ю «Телекритиці» зазначив, що фірма бізнесмена, власника групи каналів «Інтер» Дмитра Фірташа запатентувала бренд Ukraine Tomorrow.

Таким чином міністерству тепер доведеться вносити зміни в частині назви до законопроекту № 2334а «Про систему іномовлення України», який зареєстровано у Верховній Раді 13 липня.

За словами міністра, Міністерство інформаційної політики (МІП) має намір провести реформу іномовлення в Україні, але цей процес дуже не подобається певним людям.

«Коли ми публічно заявили, що будемо створювати телеканал Ukraine Tomorrow, а потім звернулися до Патентного бюро, дізналися, що нас трохи випередила приватна компанія Дмитра Фірташа, яка подала документи на реєстрацію за собою бренду Ukraine Tomorrow  в різних версіях, в тому числі й російською "Украина завтра". Ми зрозуміли, що ми рухаємося в правильному напрямку, якщо це викликає такі дії. Друге, це в черговий раз стверджує нас в тому, що ми маємо провести реформу іномовлення в Україні. Якщо Дмитро Фірташ, чи його партнер Сергій Льовочкін, який представляє "Опозиційний блок", думають, що таким чином вплинуть на реалізацію цієї реформи, то вони помиляються. Тому що ключовим є не назва, а суть, контент і якість медіаплатформи. Тому те, що вони запатентували бренд Ukraine Tomorrow, нас точно не зупинить. Просто буде інша назва», - сказав він.

У законопроекті назва Ukraine Tomorrow буде замінена на «Мультимедійна медіаплатформа іномовлення України».
