Американский актер Стивен Сигал, в 2016 году получивший российский паспорт из рук Владимира Путина, выплатит огромный штраф Американской комиссии по ценным бумагам и биржам (SEC). Звезду боевиков 90-х обвинили в сокрытии гонораров, которые он получил за неправомерную рекламу криптовалюты Bitcoiin2Gen, пишет Gizmodo.

В 2018 году Сигал стал амбассадором B2G, и в его социальных сетях начали появляться публикации, поощряющие подписчиков покупать криптовалюту. Сейчас все рекламные посты на его страницах в Twitter и Facebook удалены, но в пресс-релизе 2018 года указано, что вместе с Bitcoiin2Gen Сигал, как "дзен-учитель и целитель", хочет "просветить людей и расширить их возможности".

По закону, знаменитости, размещающие подобную рекламу, должны указывать размер компенсации, которую за нее получают. Однако Сигал забыл упомянуть, что ему заплатили за продвижение B2G $250 тыс. наличными и $750 тыс. в криптовалюте. Сообщается, что актер согласился выплатить штраф и судебные издержки, и претензий к постановлению SEC не имеет. Ему предстоит раскошелиться на $330 тыс.
