Сканадальний президент ПАРЄ Педро Аграмунт добровільно подав у відставку.

"Вирішив не чекати фінального голосування в Асамблеї, запланованого на понеділок. Послався на стан здоров‘я. Вітаю всіх причетних, це наша спільна перемога!", - сказав він. 

Нагадаємо, ще у червні група депутатів Парламентської асамблеї Ради Європи зареєструвала в секретаріаті асамблеї пропозицію про припинення повноважень президента ПАРЄ Педро Аграмунта.  Всього під документом поставили підпис понад 160 депутатів. Таким чином це рекордна кількість, бо досі жоден документ ПАРЄ не реєструвався за такої кількості підписантів. 

Скандал довкола Аграмунта розгорнувся після повідомлення про його візит до Сирії. Він визнав, що зробив помилку, коли полетів російським літаком. Аграмунт заявляв, що росіяни його обманули і підставили, а також, що добровільно у відставку він не піде.
