Мировые СМИ обратили внимание на цвет наряда – серый костюм с пурпурной блузой. Такого же цвета был воротник пиджака. Кроме того, у супруга кандидата, экс-президента США Билла Клинтона, был галстук аналогичного оттенка.

Пурпурный — символ единства. По словам одного из экспертов, пурпурный также является сочетанием синего и красного — цветов демократов и республиканцев соответственно.

Elle пишет, что у пурпурного множество значений. В частности, он символизирует двухпартийность. Этот цвет присутствует во флаге суфражисток, имеет существенное значение в методистской церкви, является символом антиагрессии в ЛГБТ-сообществах. Кроме того, это королевский цвет.

People тоже пишет о королевском значении пурпура, о том, что он объединяет цвета демократов и республиканцев и что он может символизировать солидарность с ЛГБТ-сообществом и суфражистками.

Напомним, кандидат от Республиканской партии Дональд Трамп победил на президентских выборах в США, которые состоялись 8 ноября. Демократов на выборах представляла бывшая госсекретарь Хиллари Клинтон.

Подсчет голосов еще продолжается. По прогнозу ABC, в 47 штатах Трамп получил 279 голосов выборщиков, а Клинтон – 228 голосов. Для победы было необходимо набрать минимум 270 голосов.
