Так, глибоко вночі, коли розпочали надходити новини про перемогу Трампа у критично важливих штатах, курс мексиканського песо обвалився на 8%, що стало найглибшим падінням від 1994 року, коли країна переживала девальваційну кризу.

Після підтвердження інформації про перемогу Трампа у Флориді та Огайо, обвал досяг 10% 

Причиною для падіння стали побоювання щодо зміни Трампом у випадку його перемоги імміграційної політики США, а також щодо можливого перегляду правил Північноамериканської Зони вільної торгівлі (NAFTA).

Долар США по відношенню до японської ієни впав на 3%, що також є достатньо різким одномоментним зниженням курсу.

Реальний ринок також відреагував падінням: ф’ючерси S&P просіли більше ніж на 4%.  Водночас, ціна на золото, яке інвестори зазвичай використовують дл вкладення капіталу у складний період, виросла на 2,9%
