Социальная сеть готовит запуск видеоигровой платформы для PC, которая будет во многом рассчитана на разработчиков видеоигр, использующих игровой движок Unity.


Как сообщает TechCrunc, авторы мобильных игр смогут размещать в новом сервисе свои продукты, а обычные пользователи смогут купить, скачать их и запустить на ПК. В рамках сотрудничества с Facebook, Unity до 31 августа будет предоставлять разработчикам игр доступ к особой версии своего движка, обладающей инструментарием для интеграции игр на iOS и Android с сервисами Facebook.

«На разрабатываемой в Facebook платформе можно будет размещать не только мобильные и социальные (то есть разработанные для соцсети) игры, но и более «крупные» проекты вроде тех, которые можно встретить на игровых консолях или сервисах вроде Steam», — отмечают в Unity.

Также отмечается, что Facebook будет делиться прибылью от продаж, размещенных на платформе игр с их разработчиками, однако не раскрывается, в какой именно пропорции.

Первоначально Facebook анонсировала собственную игровую платформу в мае этого года. Тогда она называлась Facebook Games Arcade, однако сейчас компания отказалась от этого названия в пользу «новая игровая платформа Facebook на ПК».
