Британская Pearson вслед за продажей FT Group, основной актив которой — газета Financial Times, японской Nikkei Inc. ведет переговоры о продаже 50-процентной доли в Economist Group — издателе The Economist, говорится в заявлении компании, распространенном в субботу, пишет РБК

«Pearson подтверждает, что идет процесс обсуждения с руководством Economist Group и доверенными лицами относительно возможной продажи 50-процентной доли в группе», — говорится в заявлении компании. При этом отмечается, что «никакой уверенности в том, что переговорный процесс приведет к сделке, нет». Потенциальные покупатели не называются.

Агентство Reuters cо ссылкой на свои источники уточняет, что группа миноритариев, владеющих остальными 50% акций компании, ведет переговоры с Pearson. Однако, по словам собеседника издания, у них недостаточно средств для выкупа доли. В то же время у них гораздо больше прав при голосовании, чем у Pearson, которая владеет акциями класса Б. Кроме того, для любой смены собственника необходимо обязательное согласие таких держателей акций, как Cadbury, Rothschild и других.

Аналитики агентства сомневаются, что миноритарии одобрят продажу 50-процентной доли Pearson третьему лицу.

На этой неделе стало известно о том, что Pearson договорилась о продаже FT Group японской Nikkei Inc. за $1,3 млрд. Сделка будет закрыта после одобрения регуляторов в четвертом квартале 2015 года, прогнозирует продавец.
