У канадській провінції Альберта поліцейські ганялися за автомобілем Tesla Model S, який був під контролем автопілота, в той час як водій і пасажир спали на передніх сидіннях. Як інформує PRпортал, про це йдеться в повідомленні поліції.

Незважаючи на те, що інцидент стався ще 9 липня, повідомили про нього лише 17 вересня.

Так, у четвер, 9 липня, приблизно о 16:00 у поліцію Альберти надійшла скарга на автомобіль, який мчав на південь по шосе біля міста Понока. Автомобіль на автопілоті рухався зі швидкістю понад 140 км/год, обидва передні сидіння були повністю відкинуті назад, а водій та пасажир, здавалося, спали.

Після того, як офіцер поліції увімкнув сирену на своєму автомобілі, Tesla автоматично почала прискорюватися. За даними поліції, автопілот розігнав Tesla до 150 км/год.

Коли вдалося зупинити автомобіль, 20-річний водій заявив, що втомився, тому увімкнув автопілот.

За перевищення швидкості водія позбавили прав на добу.

У поліції підкреслюють, що автопілот є додатковою системою безпеки, а водії продовжують нести відповідальність за управління.
