Поліція Сполучених Штатів затримала 81-річного чоловіка, який, за словами слідства, роками тероризував околиці Південної Каліфорнії, обстрілюючи людей за допомогою рогатки. Про це пише Associated Press.

Проводячи розслідування, детективи дізналися, що протягом 9-10 років десятки громадян «ставали жертвами серійної стрільби з рогатки».

Літнього чоловіка підозрюють у тому, що він розбивав вікна та лобове скло автомобілів, а також ледь не влучив у людей кульками, випущеними з рогатки. Про постраждалих не повідомляється.

Чоловіка затримали після того, як поліціянти отримали ордер на обшук і знайшли рогатку та кульки в його будинку в місті Азуса, приблизно за 40 км на схід від Лос-Анджелеса.

Детективи дізналися, що більшість кульок були випущені із заднього двору підозрюваного.

«Ми не знаємо жодного мотиву, окрім просто зловмисних пустощів», — сказав лейтенант поліції Джейк Буші.

Літній чоловік має постати перед судом 28 травня.
