Інцидент стався за участю депутатки Пернілле Скіпер, яка прийшла на дебати до сесійної зали зі своєю дитиною. Прохання залишити залу висловила Пії К'єрсгаард, яка на той момент виконувала функції спікера парламенту.Як пише The Local, К'єрсгаард не особисто попросила Скіпер вийти із зали, а передала 2 записки через помічницю.

Сама Скіпер підтвердила, що такий епізод стався, але відмовилася коментувати ситуація. Вона також не пояснила, чому прийшла на засідання з маленькою дитиною. 

Це не перший випадок, коли К'єрсгаард виставляє із парламенту депутатку з дитиною. У березні 2019 року вона так само вчинила з депутаткою Метте Абільдгаард. Той інцидент викликав здивування в країні, яка часто вважається піонером у сфері прав жінок, і в результаті про це написали багато міжнародних ЗМІ. 

У письмовому коментарі спікер парламенту Данії сказав, що дії К’єрсгаард відповідають загальним правилам.

"Президія у 2019 році прийняла рішення про те, що немовлятам не належить бути у палаті парламенту. Це рішення не змінилося",– сказав він.

Додамо, що в Україні чоловіки тепер можуть йти у декретну відпуску. Відповідний законопроєкт Верховна Рада схвалила ще 15 квітня. Він забезпечує рівні можливості матері та батька на догляд за дитиною.
