Президент Сербії Александар Вучич порівняв Хорватію з лідером нацистської Німеччини Адольфом Гітлером під час висилання понад 200 тисяч сербів наприкінці хорватської війни 1991-1995 років за незалежність.

Про це Вучич заявив під час вшанування пам’яті загиблих унаслідок хорватської воєнної операції "Буря", пише "Радіо Свобода".

"Гітлер хотів світ без євреїв, Хорватія – без сербів. В обох випадках були заклики до остаточного рішення", – заявив лідер Сербії.

У Загребі слова Вучича наразі не прокоментували. 

Внаслідок операції "Буря" у серпні 1995 року Хорватія встановила контроль над захопленими сербськими повстанцями територіями.

Дискусійною лишається кількість людей, зокрема цивільних, які загинули під час операції: різні джерела називають від сотень до тисяч вбитих.
