Генеральный серетарь ООН Пан Ги Мун во время официального выступления перепутал Австрию с Австралей.

Оговорку Пан Ги Мун совершил в Вене, где выступал на конференции. Когда генсек выражал благодарность принимающей стороне, то перепутал названия двух стран.

Позже он объяснил, что это была всего лишь оговорка. Пан Ги Мун пошутил на эту тему и сказал, что прекрасно осведомлен об отсутствии в Австрии кенгуру.

Пан Ги Мун уже не первый политик, который перепутал названия двух стран. Так, например, в 2007 году бывший президент США Джордж Буш на саммите АТЭС назвал австрийские войска «австралийскими», рассказывая о посещении Ирака премьер-министром Австралии, сообщает «Дождь».
