Засновник Twitter Джек Дорсі заявив, що на сервісі до кінця 2020 року не з’явиться кнопка редагування твітів.

Про це він повідомив у серії відповідей на питання видання Wired.

Дорсі зазначив, що відсутність кнопки є традицією. Він пояснив, що коли створювався Twitter, розробники керувалися політикою відправлення SMS – після відправлення повідомлень їх не можна редагувати. У компанії хотіли зберегти цей дух у сервісі.

Також засновник сервісу наголосив, що однією з причин є використання кнопки ретвіту. Якщо автор оригінальної публікації відредагував її на власний розсуд, то на сторінках інших виявиться інший матеріал.
