Протягом 2014-2015 рр. в Україні зареєстровано більше політичних партій, ніж за шість попередніх років.

У 2014 р. створено 39 партій, у 2015 р. (станом на 24 березня) – ще 27. Так багато політичних партій не було зареєстровано в жоден попередній рік. До цього найбільше із нині існуючих партій утворено в 2005 р. – 24, найменше в 1994, 1995, 2002, 2003 рр. – по 2 партії і в 1990 р. – 1 партія. В цілому, в Україні зареєстровано 262 діючі політичні партії.

Напередодні чергових місцевих виборів зростає ризик виборчих махінацій за рахунок нещодавно створених партій. Зокрема, ці партії можуть виявитись технічними і передавати власні місця в дільничних виборчих комісіях на користь зацікавлених кандидатів та партій. Окрім цього, участь великої кількості партій ускладнює процес адміністрування виборів.
