Верховный суд КНДР приговорил к 15 годам принудительных работ "за преступление против государства" американского студента. По информации, которую распространило китайское агентство Xinhua, 21-летний Отто Вормбир сознался, что намеревался украсть политический плакат со стены своего отеля в Пхеньяне, пишет Лига.нет.

В частности, студент из США посещал Северную Корею на новогодние праздники в составе туристической группы. Вормбир был арестован 2 января 2016 года, когда его сняли практически с борта самолета перед самым вылетом в Пекин.

В конце февраля студент выступил перед журналистами на специальной пресс-конференции в Пхеньяне, рассказав, что по просьбе прихожанина своей церкви сорвал со стены и забрал себе плакат с политическим лозунгом. Как заявил Вормбир, за это ему пообещали подержанную машину стоимостью $10 тысяч.

Как отмечает Reuters, власти КНДР время от времени арестовывают граждан США по замысловатым обвинениям с целью добиться визитов американских чиновников США для проведения переговоров относительно выгод для Пхеньяна. Между Северной Кореей и США нет дипломатических отношений.
