У підготовленому аналітиками з кібербезпеки документі йдеться, що окремі уряди та організації добре фінансують "підкилимні зусилля" для поширення пропагандистської інформації та брехні для геополітичних цілей. Вказано також на створення сотень штучних профілів для "хибного роздування" важливості окремих тем, збирання паролів користувачів обманом, кампанії з координації "лайків" для вірусного просування дописів, створення груп для прихованої пропаганди, а також поширення расистських матеріалів і таких коментарів, що розпалюють ненависть.

Автори звіту додали, що метою таких кампаній може бути як підтримка чи дискредитація тих чи інших ідей або кандидатів, так і створення атмосфери непорозуміння та недовіри загалом.

Соцмережа повідомила, що почне боротьбу з "інформаційними операціями" із видалення фейкових профілів та виявлення політичного чи комерційного спаму.

Нагадаємо, інтернет-пошуковик Google змінить свій алгоритм так, щоб виключати з результатів пошуку посилання на фейкові новини та екстремістські висловлювання.
