Американский телеканал Cable News Network (CNN) до 31 декабря 2014 г. прекратит вещание в России в кабельных сетях. Такое уведомление направила Turner Broadcasting System Europe Limited (входит в Time Warner) кабельным операторам (копия письма имеется в распоряжении «Ведомостей»). Представители «Вымпелкома» и «Акадо» подтвердили наличие такого письма.

Решение приостановить вещание канала CNN на территории России было принято из-за поправок в закон о СМИ, рассказал «Ведомостям» представитель Turner. «В свете последних изменений в российском законодательстве, регламентирующих деятельность СМИ, Turner International рассматривает альтернативные возможности вещания CNN в России. На данный момент, в ожидании решения, мы приостанавливаем дистрибуцию телеканала. Надеемся, что со временем нам удастся вернуться на рынок. Мы сообщим нашим партнерам о возобновлении предоставления услуг. Московское бюро CNN продолжит свою работу без изменений,- сказали в компании.
