В различных частях Великобритании в четверг проходят выборы в местные и региональные органы власти, которые окрестили "суперчетвергом" по аналогии с "супервторником" американских праймериз.

Сегодня состоятся выборы членов Шотландского парламента, Ассамблеи Уэльса, Ассамблеи Северной Ирландии, а также 124 муниципальных советов в Англии, в том числе Ассамблеи Большого Лондона.

Кроме того, будут избраны новые мэры в Лондоне, где жители выберут преемника нынешнего градоначальника Бориса Джонсона, Бристоле, Ливерпуле и Манчестере.

В Англии и Уэльсе также избираются новые комиссары, которым будут подотчетны территориальные полицейские управления.

Избирательные участки открываются в 07:00 по местному времени и закроются в 22:00. Подсчет голосов будет проводиться в пятницу и в этот же день объявят большинство результатов.

Сегодняшнее голосование является крупнейшим тестом политических взглядов до следующих всеобщих выборов, которые запланированы на 2020 год.
