Сенатор США заявив, що російські кібер-оперативники розпочали роботу у Шотландії щодо підтримки другого референдуму про незалежність.

Сенатор Ангус Кінг заявив на слуханнях у Вашингтоні про втручання Росії в минулорічні президентські вибори в США, та що Шотландія також перебуває в списку цілей Кремля.

«Ми знаємо, що росіяни причетні до виборів у Франції. Ми знаємо, що вони причетні до виборів у Німеччині. Ми зараз знаємо, що вони були залучені до сепаратизму в Іспанії...

І я розумію, що вони взялися за роботу у Шотландії щодо референдуму за незалежність від Великої Британії. Це складна загальнонаціональна стратегія. Вона не зупинилася та не зупиниться», - сказав він.
