Американський сайт The Onion, відомий своїми фейковими та сатиричними новинами, випадково написав новину, частина інформації в якій виявилася правдою,повідомляє Media Sapiens
 

В новині The Onion йшлося про те, що у місті Клівленд, штат Огайо, завершилась побудова наземної каналізації. Загальна довжина системи, яка буде відводити сточні води, становить близько 100 кілометрів й вона прокладена вулицями міста міста на рівні третього поверху. В новині також зазначалося, що ця каналізація «відкрита», а на ілюстрації до неї було зображено жолоб з відкритим верхом, по якому течуть нечистоти.

Після виходу новини з The Onion зв’язалася комунальна служба Огайо й повідомила, що в Клівленді дійсно є наземна каналізація. Дві такі труби прокладені у місті над річкою Кайахога. Вони були побудувані в 1980-х роках й розташовані на висоті 12 метрів над рівнем води у річці. Такий тип каналізації використали для того, аби не довелося застосовувати потужності насосних станцій, аби перекачувати рідину з одного берега на інший. Якби труби проклали під рікою, саме так довелося б робити.

Комунальна служба також виклала у Twitter відео, в якому показала наземну каналізацію в Клівленді.
