Прокремлівський новинний канал визнаний винним в порушенні встановлених у Великобританії правил мовлення при висвітленні української кризи

Russia Today перебуває під загрозою передбачених законом санкцій британського регулятора ЗМІ Ofcom оскільки прокремлівський канал порушив правила мовлення упереджено висвітлюючи кризу в Україні, повідомляє Еспресо.TV

Представники Russia Today були викликаний на зустріч в Ofcom після того, як канал був визнаний винним в порушенні Кодексу норм британських мовників в постанові, опублікованій в понеділок.

Регулятор виділив чотири окремі звіти, всі вони стосуються трансляцій в березні цього року, пов’язаних з ситуацією в Україні.

Ofcom визнав, що RT, котрий фінансується урядом РФ і запустив британську версію минулого місяця, "хоче представляти новини з точки зору Росії".

Але на думку британського регулятора всі новини повинні бути представлені "при належній неупередженості ... зокрема, при складанні звітів з питань важливих політичних протистоянь".

В Ofcom повідомили, що поставив канал "до відома, що будь-які майбутні порушення належних правил неупередженості може привести до подальшої регуляторної дії, в тому числі розгляду статутних санкцій".

Статутні санкції можуть бути здійснені як у вигляді штрафу, так і у вигляді відкликання ліцензії на мовлення.

Представник Ofcom сказав: "Ofcom має суворі правила щодо захисту аудиторії. Якщо мовники порушують наші правила, ми здійснюємо термінові і рішучі дії
