Російські мільярдери не залишаться без гроша, але жорстке падіння ринків і цін на сировину, безсумнівно, підрізало їм крила і призвело до закінчення епохи їх зростаючого впливу, відзначає видання.

Ці люди виникли з нізвідки і отримали неймовірні багатства, пише газета. Але епоха російського олігарха добігає кінця, так як різке падіння ціни на нафту і колапс курсу рубля призвели до величезних для них втрат.

Роман Абрамович, який зробив мільярди на продажі "Сібнєфті", втратив близько 820 млн доларів з початку року, Алішер Усманов - близько 910 млн.

Різке падіння номінальної вартості активів по всьому світу особливо сильно вдарило по російським мільярдерам. Володимир Потанін втратив 1,3 млрд доларів, а вартість активів Леоніда Міхельсона впала на півтора мільярда, пише газета, посилаючись на дані індексу мільярдерів Bloomberg.

Враховуючи всі невизначеності на російському політичному горизонті і непрозору мережу взаємин навколо президента Путіна, багато олігархів вирішили вивести свої гроші з Росії.

Термінова необхідність вивести гроші привела до різкого зростання цін на велику кількість активів по всьому світу - дорогих яхт, вілл тощо.

Це створює ситуацію, при якій стан цих людей є величезним на папері, але активи на кшталт вілл не приносять доходів, хіба що якщо здаються в оренду, а такі речі, як яхти, приватні літаки, вертольоти і футбольні клуби обходяться в мільйони доларів на рік, йдеться у статті.
