Российский производитель антивирусного ПО "Лаборатория Касперского" объявила о выпуске бесплатной версии своего антивируса для всего мира на фоне укрепления подозрений США в связях компании с ФСБ.

Об этом в своем блоге сообщил основатель компании Евгений Касперский, передает Апотсроф.

Бесплатная версия продукта, получившая название Kaspersky Free, была сразу запущена в США, Канаде и некоторых странах Азиатско-Тихоокеанского региона. В ближайшие месяцы она будет доступна в других регионах.

Программа обладает минимальным функционалом и включает в себя защиту электронной почты, защиту от киберугроз в сети Интернет, а также автоматическое обновление.

Как отмечает Reuters, "Лаборатория Касперского", основанная в 1997 году, значительно расширилась в 2000-х годах, войдя в число ведущих мировых антивирусных компаний. При этом российского производителя длительное время подозревают в связях с ФСБ. В последнее время эти подозрения укрепились в США после ухудшения отношений с Россией на фоне аннексии Крыма, а также вмешательству РФ в президентские выборы в Соединенных Штатах.

Накануне в США исключили "Лабораторию Касперского" из перечня поставщиков, чья продукция допускается к приобретению госорганами страны. В Конгресс США также внесен документ, прямо запрещающий американским военным использовать продукцию российского производителя.
