Президент США Барак Обама привітав Гіларі Клінтон з перемогою в боротьбі за висунення кандидатом у президенти від Демократичної партії.

"Її історична кампанія надихнула мільйони людей і стала продовженням її боротьби за права сімей і дітей з середнього класу", - заявив офіційний представник Білого дому Джош Ернест.

Обама також подякував іншого учасника попередніх виборів від демократів, Берні Сандерса, з яким він має намір провести зустріч в четвер.

"Президент подякував сенатору Сандерса за то, що він заразив мільйони американців своїм настроєм на боротьбу з економічною нерівністю", - йдеться в заяві Білого дому.
