Колишній президент США Барак Обама веде переговори з компанією Netflix про запуск власного шоу. Про це 8 березня газета The New York Times повідомила з посиланням на обізнані джерела.

Передбачають, що відеосервіс заплатить Обамі та його дружині Мішель за "ексклюзивний контент", який буде доступним тільки на стримінговій платформі. Суми угоди не розголошують. Кількість епізодів та їхній формат також невідомі.

За словами співрозмовників, Обама не планує використовувати Netflix для дискусії з чинним президентом Дональдом Трампом чи з консервативними критиками. Обама хоче стати продюсером шоу, на якому продемонструють "історії, що надихають".

Імовірними темами можуть стати головні проблеми президентства Обами – охорона здоров'я, міграційна політика, виборче право, зміна клімату. Мішель Обама, зі свого боку, може вести передачу про правильне харчування, ідеться в публікації.

Окрім Netflix, зацікавленість у співпраці з екс-президентом нібито висловили Apple та Amazon.

Обама був президентом США з 2009-го до 2017 року.
