Віце-президент США Джо Байден отримав "благословення" від президента Барака Обами на участь у президентських виборах в 2016 році.

Про це повідомляє CNN, передає Укрінформ.

«Президент ясно дав зрозуміти, що він не буде стояти на його шляху або відмовляти його», повідомляє джерело з посиланням на високопоставлене джерело в Демократичній партії.

«Благословення» було отримано під час зустрічі Обами і Байдена в Білому домі в понеділок.

За попередньою інформацією, віце-президент США поки не прийняв остаточного рішення.

«Він схиляється до участі в президентській гонці, але ще не прийняв остаточного рішення», - повідомило джерело.

Нині Джо Байден проводить консультації всередині Демократичної партії щодо перспектив підтримання його кандидатури.

Як відомо, на початку серпня, 72-річний Байден вперше оголосив про бажання балотуватися на президентських виборах у вузькому колі членів сім'ї, близьких друзів і спонсорів.
