Речник президента Росії Володимира Путіна Дмитро Пєсков заявив, що Кремль не має ніякого стосунку до купівлі реклами у Facebook для впливу на вибори в США.

Про це він сказав журналістам у четвер, передає ТСН із посиланням на РИА Новости.

"Ми ніколи про це не чули, ми нічого про це не знаємо. Тим більше, ми не маємо до цього ніякого відношення до цих справ", — сказав Пєсков.

Речник Путіна також попросив журналістів "нас не асоціювати с цією історією про Facebook".

Нагадаємо, напередодні директор служби безпеки Facebook Алекс Стамос заявив, що Росія могла впливати на користувачів Facebook через рекламу в соціальній мережі.

За його словами, намагаючись відстежити зв'язок між можливим втручанням Москви у вибори в США і рекламними оголошеннями у Facebook, в соцмережі знайшли приблизно 470 фейкових акаунтів і сторінок, які з червня 2015 по травень 2017 років придбали близько 3 тисяч оголошень на загальну суму 100 тисяч доларів. Ці облікові записи та сторінки були пов'язані один з одним і, ймовірно, діяли з Росії.

Переважна більшість рекламних оголошень були зосереджені на посиленні соціальних і політичних розбіжностей в американському суспільстві.
