Австралійський медіахолдинг News Corp, який є одним з найбільших в країні та володіє 142 газетами, оголосив про значне скорочення фотовідділів у своїх виданнях, пише Media Sapiens

News Corp пояснює своє рішення необхідністю скоротити видатки компанії. Останній фінансовий звіт медіахолдингу зафіксував $ 215 мільйонів збитків. Компанія має намір відмовитися від застарілої моделі штатних фотографів, замінивши її новою гібридною моделлю співпраці: у редакцій будуть невеликі власні команди спеціалістів з фотографії, доповнені фрілансерами та знімками від інформагентств, цитує The Guardian.

Інший великий медіахолдинг Австралії Fairfax Media вже використовує таку «гібридну» модель. News Corp не розкрила точне число фотографів, яких компанія планує скоротити. Однак у більшості видань буде скорочено 2/3 фотовідділів. Під скорочення потраплять популярні австралійські газети Daily Telegraph, Herald Sun, The Australian та Courier Mail.

Як писав MediaSapiens, нещодавно українські фотографи перемогли у міжнародному фотоконкурсі Jazz World Photo. Серед 231 учасника з 31 країни світу кращими визнані львівські фотографи Олег Панов і Сергій Горобець, які завоювали перше та друге місця.
