Російські ЗМІ опублікували недостовірну інформацію про те, що новопризначений міністр фінансів України Наталія Яресько є сестрою Катерини Чумаченко, дружини екс-президента Віктора Ющенка.

Вперше таке повідомлення опублікувало видання «Российский диалог». У матеріалі за 5 грудня опубліковано переклад статті «Meet and Greet Natalie Jaresko, US Government Employee, Ukraine Finance Minister» з англомовного блогу naked capitalism,пише osvita.mediasapiens.ua

Як з’ясувало видання StopFake, під час перекладу на російську було допущено помилку, внаслідок чого й були зроблені недостовірні висновки.

Ось частина публікації блогу naked capitalism, з якої виникла дезінформація:

У двох абзацах поспіль авторка тексту Івз Смітт розповідає про жінок на ім’я Катерина, однак йдеться про дві різні особи. Спершу згадано про старшу сестру Наталії Яресько на ім’я Кетрін («Katherine»). До цього імені у тексті прикріплене гіперпосилання на некролог, оскільки Кетрін М. Яресько-Марцинюк померла у 2008 році у віці 49 років.

Натомість у наступному абзаці йдеться про Катерину Чумаченко («Kateryna»), дружину Віктора Ющенка і також уродженку США.

Недостовірний переклад інформації поширило російське інтернет-видання Ukraina.ru, яке створене за підтримки керівника ІА «Россия сегодня» Дмитра Кисельова. Нагадаємо, головред цього видання Олена Березовська занесена на «Дошку ганьби» за дезінформування про події в Україні.

Фейкову новину про Наталію Яресько та Катерину Ющенко також поширив екс-депутат від БЮТ Андрій Шкіль та  поширило українське інтернет-видання «Антикор». Недостовірні повідомлення були помічені в цьому виданні й раніше.
