«Більше 100 прихильників ксенофобського руху Pegida і «Альтернативи для Німеччини» зустріли канцлера свистом і вигуками «Вали! Геть!» - повідомляє ЗМІ.

У момент прибуття кандидатки від Християнсько-демократичного союзу на ринкову площу на ній панував сильний гамір. Під час півгодинного виступу Меркель частина натовпу періодично скандувала «Зрадниця народу». Главу уряду захищали поліцейські.

Меркель звернулася до присутніх зі словами: «Деякі можуть тільки кричати, деякі хочуть щось зрушити, інші лише закликають». Незважаючи на контингент слухачів, канцлер захищала свою політику по відношенню до біженців. При цьому зауважила, що такий рік, яким виявився 2015, не повинен повторитися.

Передвиборне турне Меркель, як раніше повідомляв Укрінформ, охоплює 50 міст. Почала вона його 12 серпня з Дортмунда.
