Політик Гілларі Клінтон та режисер Стівен Спілберг об’єднуються для екранізації книги Елейн Вайс (Elaine Weiss) «Час жінок: Велика боротьба, щоб отримати голос».
 

Книга побачила світ у березні, пише Media Sapiens The Wrap.

У ній Вайс розповідає про американських активісток, які десятиліттями боролися за те, щоб жінки отримали право голосу на виборах.

Відповідає за екранізацію книги компанія Стівена Спілберга Amblin Television. Екс-Дежсекретар США Гілларі Клінтон буде виконавчим продюсером проекту.

«Час жінок» — це натхненна історія про тих, хто змінив історію та заклав основу для руху за громадянські права, який прийшов десятиліттями пізніше», — каже прес-служба Amblin.

Планується, що це буде довготерміновий проект для кабельного телебачення чи стрімінгових платформ.

«У серці демократії розташована скринька для голосування. А незабутня книга Елейн Вайс розповідає про лідерок, які усупереч економічному, расовому і політичному спротиву, боролися за право американських жінок голосувати. І перемогли… Їхній тріумф — це наша спадщина, яку потрібно охороняти і наслідувати», — сказала Гілларі Клінтон у заяві.
