Американський мільярдер Марк Цукерберг оголосив про перейменування компанії Facebook. Відтепер компанія буде мати назву Meta.

Як ідеться у  відеопрезентації,   назва Meta має відображати новий напрямок, в якому планує працювати компанія.

“Це створення так званого метавсесвіту. Компанія збирається створювати власні продукти віртуальної і доповненої реальності, а також розумні окуляри”, – сказав Цукерберг під час відеопрезентації.

За словами Цукерберга, метавсесвіт – це наступна еволюція соціальних зв’язків.

Ребрендинг компанії не вплине на назву соціальної мережі Facebook та інших продуктів.
