Перед началом чемпионата мира по футболу — 2018 подразделение сети фастфуда KFC в Южной Африке выпустило рекламный ролик с футболистом, который после столкновения с соперником театрально катается от боли. И катится он целеустремлённо в одном направлении, пока не оказывается в ресторане, где продают животворящую курочку. Но после того как Бразилия встретилась с Мексикой в 1/8 финала, стало понятно, что прототипом главного героя стал один конкретный футболист. Да, это Неймар.
Канал KFC South Africa в YouTube представил свою «футбольную» рекламу 15 июня. Ролик начинается с трансляции со стадиона, где играют выдуманные команды — CFK и HGL. На 52-й минуте матча футболист в синей форме пытается остановить игрока в красном и швыряет его на газон. Пострадавший валится на траву и пытается изобразить конвульсии. Ну или нижний брейк.
Заработавший фол игрок в синем хватается за голову, к пострадавшему выбегают санитары с носилками, однако оказать медицинскую помощь травмированному не удаётся: он, всё так же театрально держась за ушибленную ногу, выкатывается сначала за пределы поля, а потом и всего стадиона.
В погоню за игроком с номером 11 на спине устремляются репортёры, но его не догнать. Сначала он катится по улице, заставляя скейтбордиста перепрыгивать себя, затем перекатывается через мост, не забывая изображать боль.
Встать на ноги ему удаётся только в ресторане KFС благодаря живительным куриным ножкам.
