Канадское подразделение компании Honda совместно с агентством ds+p создали сиквел к одному из самых популярных и дорогих видеороликов автокомпании, знаменитого ролика от агентства Wieden+Kennedy для Honda Accord.

Речь идет о рекламе "The Cog", которая вышла в 2003 году, на ее создание компания потратила 1 млн фунтов. Автором ролика выступило агентство Wieden+Kennedy, "изюминкой" видео стал прием цепной реакции, когда благодаря законам физики одни предметы приводят в движение другие, по принципу машины Руба Голдберга. 

Для создания этого 120-секундного шедевра понадобились три разобранных Honda Accord и три месяца времени, два из которых команда инженеров просчитывала траекторию падения каждого винтика. За месяц съемок было сделано 606 дублей. Кропотливый труд рекламщиков и инженеров не остался незамеченным: ролик "Cog" является обладателем всевозможных наград и званий, включая золотого каннского льва и сертификат Книги рекордов Гиннесса, выданный "рекламе с самым большим в мире количеством наград".

Сиквел, получивший название "Кog", снятый канадским подразделением Honda, является более лаконичным. Его начало полностью копирует оригинальный ролик, однако продолжение видео становится неожиданным. В отличие от рекламы Wieden+Kennedy, где все движения детально просчитаны, в сиквеле цепочка обрывается и виной тому, судя по видео - неоригинальные автозапчасти.
