Книги з доповненою реальністю, яка дозволяє оживати історіям на сторінках, вже перестали бути новинкою на ринку. Однак для створення "живої" книги потрібен гаджет. Наприклад, в розробці BooksARalive в процесі беруть участь паперова книга і планшет.

Додатки сканують будь-яку ілюстрацію книги і за допомогою гаджетів передають додатковий контент: об'ємне зображення, тривимірну анімацію або звук.

Як пояснює TechXplore, нова технологія Google, яка перетворює реальну книгу в віртуальну розвагу, обійдеться без смартфонів і планшетів. Їх функції виконає прилад, що зовні нагадує гамбургер.

Він розміщується між сторінками звичайної книги і в процесі читання "оживляє" зображення в ній і доповнює їх новими деталями, реагуючи на маніпуляції людини, що читає.

Нагадаємо, схожу технологію в минулому році запатентувала корпорація Microsoft. Йдеться про електронну книгу з функцією голосового відтворення тексту і інтерактивними картинками. Тобто така e-book буде сама читати вашій дитині казки на ніч, а при проголошенні фрази: "...І тут з'явився дракон" - в ній буде оживати анімована картинка з цим самим драконом.
