Подразделение американской компании Google, занимающееся разработкой беспилотного автомобиля, запатентовало устройство, которое позволяет определять наличие на дороге машин экстренных служб, в том числе полиции
Беспилотные автомобили компании Google будут оборудованы системой, которая позволяет определить приближение полицейской машины и соответствующим образом отреагировать: уступить дорогу или остановиться по требованию полиции.

В патенте, зарегистрированном в США, описывается технология, которая сможет распознавать проблесковые маячки экстренных служб. Датчики системы будут различать красный и синий цвета, а также последовательность вспышек и таким образом определять, что имеют дело с полицейской машиной.

Технология также позволит установить направление движения полицейского автомобиля и определить, требует ли ситуация ответной реакции. Система сможет узнавать и машины скорой помощи, если в нее ввести данные о соответствующей последовательности сигналов.

Беспилотные автомобилей Google наездили уже более 1 млн миль по общественным дорогам в тестовых поездках, пишет The Telegraph. По сведениям издания, компания ведет переговоры с британскими властями о разрешении использовать беспилотные автомобили, и в Google считают, что Великобритания является одним из лидеров в разработке соответствующего законодательства.

Отрасль беспилотных технологий ежегодно увеличивается на 16% и к 2025 году будет стоить £900 млрд, отмечает The Telegraph.
