Финские телевизионщики смонтировали ролик, на котором в матче чемпионата мира по хоккею после точного броска нападающего сборной Суоми Патрика Лайне взрываются ворота и голкипер команды Белоруссии Виталий Коваль. Затем автор шайбы «сжег» взглядом кленовый лист — символ Канады.

Эпизод был частью видеоанонса поединка мирового первенства, в котором финны встречались с канадцами. Матч с белорусами, прошедший 6 мая, был для команды Финляндии первым на чемпионате мира и завершился ее победой со счетом 6:2. С тех пор финны не потерпели на турнире ни одного поражения.

19 мая в четвертьфинале сборная Финляндии обыграла команду Дании. 21 мая в полуфинале подопечные Кари Ялонена встретятся с хозяевами чемпионата мира — россиянами.
