Юридичному раднику в адміністрації президента Барака Обами Грегорі Крейгу найближчим часом можуть бути пред'явлені звинувачення в зв'язку з його діловими відносинами з урядом екс-президента України Віктора Януковича
 

Про це повідомляє газета The New York Times з посиланням на адвокатів Крейга, передає Еспресо.ТВ

Діяльність Крейга в Україні викликала інтерес спецпрокурора Роберта Мюллера в рамках його розслідування про "російський слід" у президентській кампанії США 2016 року. 

Відзначається, що можливі звинувачення проти Крейга стосуються його лобістської роботи, яку він виконував у 2012 році для Януковича. За американським законом про реєстрацію іноземних агентів (FARA) будь-яка особа, яка виконує лобістську роботу для іноземних клієнтів повинна зареєструватися як іноземний агент. Під час своєї роботи для Януковича Крейг був партнером в адвокатській конторі Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom. Крейг покинув Skadden минулого року, в січні Skadden заплатив 4,6 мільйона доларів штрафу в рамках угоди з генеральною прокуратурою США, щоб уникнути кримінального переслідування за порушення закону про реєстрацію іноземних агентів.

Порушення FARA переслідувалися рідко до тих пір, поки Роберт Мюллер не пред'явив звинувачення екс-главі виборчого штабу Дональда Трампа Полу Манафорту за його лобістську роботу в Україні і несплату податків на зароблені там гроші. Свого часу саме Манафорт пов'язав Крейга з Януковичем.

Крейг стане першою особою, пов'язаною з Демократичною партією, якій буде пред'явлено звинувачення у справі, пов'язаній з розслідуванням Мюллера.
