Україна отримує від європейських держав та США радіо- та телепередавачі, частина з яких вже забезпечують українське мовлення на зону бойових дій на Донбасі, заявив міністр інформації Юрій Стець.

«Ми отримали дев’ять потужних передавачів 5-10 кіловат за символічною ціною один долар за передавач, подібні домовленості про постачання таких передавачів ми напрацювали з країнами Балтії та США. На сьогодні, наприклад, в Донецьк іде сигнал телеканалів «Україна», «Еспресо-ТВ», «5 каналу», «1+1» і «Радіо – 24». Протягом місяця ми встановимо всі 9 передавачів, і частина з них глушитиме російські та сепаратистські телеканали», – обіцяє міністр.

Окрім того, Стець пообіцяв налагодити українське телевізійне мовлення у прифронтових населених пунктах, таких як Піски, які перебувають під українським контролем, але досі не мають телевізійного сигналу. 

Мовлення в таких населених пунктах Мінінформації забезпечуватиме спільно з Міноборони, однак наразі міністр не розкриває подробиць технології, яку для цього використають.

Юрій Стець зауважив, що інформаційний фронт у бойових діях проти сепаратистів важить не менше, аніж власне «військовий фронт». 
Міністр також зауважив, що за місяць Україна створить повноцінне іноземне мовлення за кордон, яке нині створюють на основі колишнього каналу Нацбанку – «БТБ».

У грудні 2014 року уряд створив Міністерство інформаційної політики. Його очолив народний депутат Юрій Стець, колишній головний продюсер «5-го каналу». 

Основними завданнями міністерства є забезпечення інформаційного суверенітету України, забезпечення здійснення реформ засобів масової інформації щодо поширення суспільно важливої інформації.
