Лідер місцевої опозиції, який проголосив себе тимчасовим президентом, Хуан Гуайдо, заявив, коли в країні можуть відбутися президентські вибори. Гуайдо стверджує, що дострокові вибори президента Венесуели можуть пройти протягом 6-9 місяців. Як передає PRпортал з посиланням на ntn24, вибори повинні проводитися в найкоротші терміни. У той же час Гуайдо виступив за оздоровлення венесуельської виборчої системи.

«Ми говоримо про шість-дев’ять місяців, може, менше, але якомога швидше», – заявив опозиційний лідер.

Він додав, що наразі не готовий до проведення переговорів із владою, оскільки ті «намагаються виграти час, як вони робили вже багато разів».

Нагадаємо, США призначили спеціального представника по Венесуелі. Раніше російські найманці з приватних військових компаній вирушили до Венесуели нібито для захисту і охорони Ніколаса Мадуро на тлі протестів опозиції.

Президент США Дональд Трамп відразу ж заявив, що визнає лідера опозиції Венесуели «тимчасовим президентом». У свою чергу Міністр оборони Венесуели Володимир Падріні Лопес заявив, що армія буде підтримувати президента Ніколаса Мадуро.

Верховний представник Європейського Союзу з питань зовнішньої політики і безпеки Федеріка Могеріні закликала владу Венесуели провести нові вибори. Крім того, вона заявила, що Євросоюз висловлює підтримкуопозиційному парламенту Венесуели
