Интернет часто называют "убийцей" телевидения. Американцы, к примеру, вскоре будут посвящать виртуальной реальности больше времени, чем "голубому экрану". Однако новое исследование показало, что Twitter может стать мощным инструментом для увеличения рейтинга телепередач

Аналитическое агентство Nielsen опубликовало исследование, в котором в числе прочего обнародовало этот факт. Оказалось, что многие люди заходят в Twitter во время просмотра телевизора. Комментарии в соцсети могут сильно увеличить рейтинг программы во время эфира.

Учитывая уникальную способность Twitter моментально мобилизовывать людей, рекламная привлекательность площадки многократно усиливается. Аналитики выяснили, что статистически значимые изменения рейтинга телепередач Twitter вызывает в 29 процентах случаев. Лучше всего сервис помогает набрать рейтинг различным реалити-шоу.

Тем не менее, не все представители индустрии считают, что микроблоги им так уж полезны. "Twitter может слегка поднять наш рейтинг до определенной точки. После нее увеличение количества твитов перестает вести к увеличению аудитории", — заявил изданию AllThingsDigital один из опытных телеменеджеров.
