"Він думає, що зможе купити ці вибори… Але у мене є новини для містера Блумберга — американці втомилися від мільярдерів, які купують вибори", - цитує Сандерса Associates Press.

Сандерс показав хороші результати на двох важливих етапах первинних виборів в США: 11 лютого виграв перші праймеріз в Нью-Гемпширі, а 3 лютого з мінімальним відривом посів друге місце на стартових кокусах в Айові. Джо Байден виявився аутсайдером в Айові і Нью-Гемпширі.

Однак максимальний рейтинг Сандерса становить близько 25%, його схильність до лівих ідей створює труднощі із завоюванням нових симпатиків.

Мільярдер Блумберг вже заявив, що готовий витратити на президентську гонку будь-яку суму, яка допомогла б перемогти Дональда Трампа.

Основна кампанія Блумберга зосереджена на завоюванні позицій в штатах, де пройдуть праймеріз в "супервівторок", 3 березня. За даними ЗМІ, колишній мер Нью-Йорка вже витратив на рекламу в цих штатах значні кошти.
