Премьер-министр Великобритании Борис Джонсон заявили, что намерен провести досрочные выборы в Палату общин 15 октября, если законодатели заставят его добиваться отсрочки Brexit.

«Я этого не допущу», — сказал Джонсон, назвав «капитуляцией» законопроект, открывающий возможность для перенесения Brexit с 31 октября на более поздний срок, пишет AFP.

По убеждению Джонсона, его угроза вывести Великобританию из ЕС со сделкой или без нее 31 октября в конечном итоге вынудит Брюссель согласиться на выгодные для Лондона условия.

3 сентября Борис Джонсон потерял рабочее большинство в парламенте после выхода очередного депутата из рядов Консервативной партии.

Вслед за этим Палата общин поддержала внесение изменений в повестку дня, что позволит проголосовать за запрет Brexit без сделки.

Борис Джонсон обещает вывести Великобританию из Евросоюза 31 октября, независимо от того, удастся ли ему заключить соглашение с Брюсселем.

Значительная часть британского парламента считает соглашение с ЕС обязательным условием Brexit.
